Alex Manoahcontinues to make strides in his rehab stint with the Buffalo Bisons , the pitcher threw for six innings in an attempt to return to the Toronto Blue Jays once again.

This was Manoah's longest start of the season to date as he put together another solid performance .

Manoah eyes return with promising triple-A outing

The Sportsnet team recently spoke on the 27 year old pitcher as he went for his longest start since his injury in 2024 getting his first win as he struck out 3 batters and gave up 2 earned runs in 6 innings pitched.
"Facing the Indianapolis Indians for the second time this week, Manoah used 86 pitches to complete six innings of two-run ball. The former MLB all-star struck out three in the outing, walking four and allowing five hits. Manoah allowed both of his runs in the second inning after issuing a one-out walk to Nick Yorke before Sammy Siani pulled a two-run homer to right field"-Sportsnet

Manoah looks to be gaining momentum using his full arsenal of pitches as he keeps making progress towards a major league return.
"The 27-year-old right-hander primarily threw his sinker throughout his appearance, averaging 92.4 m.p.h. with the offering while mixing in a slider, changeup and four-seam fastball. His changeup was particularly effective, earning six swing-and-misses on the afternoon."-Sportsnet

The Toronto Blue Jays have extended Manoah's rehab window, this is one of three the Blue Jays can use for him, if they were to use all three they could extend his rehab until September 12th.
"On Tuesday, Toronto's 2019 first-rounder allowed three unearned runs over 5.1 against Indianapolis, recording five strikeouts. In total, he has now made seven rehab starts after pitching once each for the complex-level Blue Jays, single-A Dunedin and double-A New Hampshire."-Sportsnet

Manoah was once a Cy Young runner up until his performance dropped tremendously leading up to his injury.
If he could return to his former glory the Blue Jays would add to an already very deep pitching staff but they would need to figure out if they should add him to the rotation or bullpen.
