The Toronto Blue Jays were without Vladimir Guerrero Jr last game against the Pittsburgh Pirates due to a hamstring injury and manager John Schneider gave an update after last night's win.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider gives update on Vladimir Guerrero Jr
The Blue Jays lost the first game of the series to the Pirates but bounced back yesterday with a 7-3 win in Pittsburgh for their 74th win of the season.
After the game, Schneider told the media that Guerrero was not available last night and that they will likely give him today off as well so that he can get three days off in a row before the series against the Marlins.
Vladdy wasn't available tonight, Schneider said. But remains feeling better #BlueJays
«We'll see how he is tomorrow. But with the off day coming after on Thursday, it would be nice to give him two more days to kind of just take a little bit of a deep breath.»
Sounds unlikely Vladimir Guerrero Jr (left hamstring) is available off the bench for the Blue Jays on Wednesday. Club can leverage Thursday's off day to get him 72+ hours of rest and recovery
Hopefully these three days off in a row will help Guerrero's inflammation and the Blue Jays will be able to get him back in the lineup for the series against the Marlins.
Guerrero had a tough start to the 2025 season but has since picked it up in a major way since the all-star break as he currently has 21 homeruns, 69 RBIs with a .298 batting average and .396 on base percentage.
