Last night, the Toronto Blue Jays got absolutely destroyed by the Houston Astros thanks to some amazing hitting performances and a no-hitter from pitcher Ronel Blanco.

Overall, the Astros needed a win last night. As we had previously reported, the team was winless in its first four games. However, on Monday night, they were able to win by a score of 10-0. It was the perfect game for the Astros as they got some huge performances from their bats. According to the Toronto Star, Kyle Tucker and Yainer Diaz each had two home runs for the Astros.

Meanwhile, the real hero of the game was Blanco, who came through with the aforementioned no-hitter. Fans were excited to see Bowden Francis take on Blanco, but that excitement quickly wore off as the game began. Blanco was kept in for all nine innings, and he made absolutely no mistake the whole game. He even finished with seven strike outs.

Following the game, Blue Jays John Schneider spoke to Sportsnet about the loss and how Blanco's heroics were an "outlier." Regardless, he gave the pitcher credit and was confident that his team can bounce back on Tuesday.

"Give him credit, that's really hard to do. (At the same time) a no-hitter's an outlier, you know? I think we're going all right with where we hope to be in terms of what the offence is supposed to do. Tonight, it's just one of those nights. You give credit to a guy that does something really, really hard to accomplish. And a loss is still a loss. You move on.»

Tonight, the Blue Jays will take on the Astros again, in Houston. The game will begin at 8:10 PM Eastern Standard Time. If you are in Canada, you can watch the game on Sportsnet.
