The Toronto Blue Jays lost to the New York Yankees last night, 9-8. However, as you can see, it was a good night for an offense that has been put under the microscope this season.

Yesterday at Yankees Stadium, the Blue Jays started Kevin Gausman. Unfortunately, it was a pretty abysmal outing for the pitcher. He gave up five runs in just more than one inning, and it led to him being taken out. It put the Blue Jays in a massive hole, with the score 9-2 and just a few innings to go.

However, the Blue Jays offense was able to awaken in the seventh inning. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a home run, while Bo Bichette and Ernie Clement were able to nab two runs each, according to MLB Stats.

The Blue Jays offense has been poor to start the year. It is something that has been lamented by numerous analysts. However, the eight runs scored on Saturday were undeniable. It was impressive, and it showed some tenacity from the roster. Now, it will be up to the team to keep this going, moving forward.

The Blue Jays will look at avenge their loss as they take on the New York Yankees again today. The game starts at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
