The Toronto Blue Jays top prospect Orelvis Martinez has had an extremely rough last two years and it looks like he cannot seem to turn things around.

Martinez was linked to multiple trade rumors heading into the trade deadline but the Blue Jays ended up holding onto to him despite not really having any room for him on their roster.

Blue Jays Orelvis Martinez is in trouble as he continues to struggle in the minors

The Blue Jays called up Martinez last season as he was playing incredibly well in Triple-A but only last 3 days in the majors before an 8-0 game suspension for PEDs.
Many fans expected Martinez to make a big jump this season and at least play half of the season in the MLB but as he continues to struggle and be inconsistent at the plate, it looks like Toronto might leave him in the minors all season.
Truly embarrassing stuff from Orelvis Martinez in AAA this season. Had a clear cut chance to be an everyday MLB player and completely fucked it up for himself.
Martinez seem to have a bit of a better month in July going from a .157 batting average with 4 homeruns to a .217 batting average with 3 homeruns in July but has been brutal in August as he had failed to get a single hit up until August 8th going 0 for 15.
June: .157/.245/.313, 4 HR, 5 XBH, 9.6% BB rate, 26.6% K rate, .558 OPS

July: .217/.393/.478, 3 HR, 6 XBH, 19.7% BB rate, 19.7% K rate, .871 OPS

August: 0-for-12 with 5 Ks in 15 PA
The Blue Jays top prospect finally go his first hit of the month in the Bisons last game but only went 1 for 4 meaning he is now 1 for 19 on the month.
For a player that should have been battling for a spot of the Blue Jays roster this season, Martinez has unfortunately completely fallen apart.
There is a good chance that the reason he was not traded at the deadline is because no other team wanted him.
