The Toronto Blue Jays took on the Chicago Cubs tonight in a tough 4-1 loss but the game was overshadowed by a scary injury involving Cubs catcher Miguel Amaya.

The Cubs recently made some roster moves involving some former Blue Jays players, hoping they could bounce back from a 5-1 loss yesterday and it looks like it worked out as they dominated tonight.

Cubs catcher Miguel Amaya has frightening injury against the Blue Jays

In the top of the 8th inning, Amaya was trying to beat out a pitch to first base when his knee jammed stepping on the base which sent him flying through the air.
Amaya remained on the ground for quite some time before he was finally carted off the field in a serious amount of pain.
Miguel Amaya awkwardly landed on first base and is now being carted off the field oh man
Miguel Amaya had to be carried to a cart after beating out an infield single. Just got back from the oblique. This fucking sucks.
The worst part of all of this is that it was Amaya's first game back from an oblique injury that had him on 60 day IL and now he will certainly be headed back.
"I don't know that I've ever wanted to cry for a guy more than I want to cry for Miguel Amaya right now. So disappointing." - Jim Deshaies

Amaya returned from the 60-day IL (oblique injury) on Wednesday before being carted off with a leg injury tonight in Toronto.
The Cubs did announce after the game that Amaya has a left ankle sprain and is headed for IL once again but that his X-Rays were negative.
Per #Cubs Craig Counsell, Miguel Amaya has a left ankle sprain. X-rays were negative. He will go on the IL.
The final game of the series takes place tomorrow afternoon at 3:07 PM as the Blue Jays will have Max Scherzer on the mound to close out the series.
