Blue Jays World Series ticket price have now hit new outrageous number

Similarly to the ALCS, tickets for the World Series in Toronto were sold out almost immediately for the Blue Jays as they face the Los Angeles Dodgers at home for games 1 and 2 starting Friday with the only way to get tickets now are through resell.
The resell tickets however, have skyrocketed in price, as it's the first time the Blue Jays play in a World Series in 30 years.
Resell ticket prices are through the roof, as tickets sell out for Blue Jays World Series.
Sean Previl of Global News reported on the chaos it has been for Blue Jays fans to acquire tickets to the World Series.
Regular tickets were sold out in 10 minutes, and now resell tickets are at a minimum of $2000 for one ticket.
"While there is a single ticket for Game 1 in section 510 at the Rogers Centre that will cost someone $1,723, taxes included, most are priced at $2,000 or higher. Someone hoping to sit closer to the field in section 135, for example, will have to shovel out $4,954."-Previl
It is not surprising, as a similar event occurred for the ALCS, where the tickets were sold out just as quickly and the cheapest tickets were around $1500 going all the way up to $4500.

There have been allegations against Ticketmaster in the past of controlling too much of the distribution of tickets.
This isn't a new phenomenon as when there is only distributor for tickets, they control the prices, and it's usually much higher than it should be. If there were multiple companies selling tickets, it would introduce more competitive pricing and make it better for the fan experience.
Unfortunately that is not the case for now, and it shows how far sports have come in our society. Spending 4500$ for 3 hours may sound unimaginable for some, but for others it's the opportunity of a lifetime.
