Former Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette is still weighing out his options in free agency and his asking price was finally revealed.

MLB insider Jon Heyman noted that Bichette is apparently looking for around $300 million this off-season which is much higher than all projections had him listed for this winter.
Bo Bichette's asking price is thought to be around $300M, according to

.
That distinction matters because this is how the January leverage game works. Agents float a ceiling, teams leak a comfort zone, and the player's market decides what's real.
Bichette has the platform to shoot high after a monster 2025 season. Bichette hit .311 with 18 homers and 94 RBIs in 139 regular-season games, and led the AL with 181 hits.
The contract setup is clean, and it's why this rumor hits so hard. Toronto made Bichette a qualifying offer of $22.025 million after his three-year, $33.6 million deal ended, so he's finally shopping the open market.
If $300 million is the starting line, it's basically an attempt to jump into the Francisco Lindor and Corey Seager neighborhood. Sportsnet pointed out Bichette will be 28 on Opening Day, and age is the one thing teams can't buy later.

Bo Bichette and $300M reshape Toronto Blue Jays plans

The market feels crowded in the right way for him, too. Sportsnet has already tied interest to big spenders like the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Chicago Cubs, and it keeps growing.
The Yankees are actually one team that are apparently willing to hit close to that number.
Bo Bichette is looking for a BIG payday, and the Yankees may be the team to give it to him.
The Phillies and Bichette are also scheduled to have a meeting this week which means they must also not find the price too high.
There's also a baseball fit angle that could keep Toronto in the room. Bichette has reportedly told teams he's open to moving one position over to second base, which makes roster puzzles a little easier to solve.
Now we wait for the part that actually matters, the first serious offer that forces everyone to stop guessing. Once that happens, we'll learn if $300M was a message, or the real finish line.
