Bo Bichette reunion chatter has Toronto Blue Jays fans watching free agency, after news broke that the Los Angeles Dodgers landed Kyle Tucker last night.

Now the Toronto Blue Jays and Bichette have to find out if they actually want the same thing, or is this just nostalgia with a price tag. The honest answer is that both sides can mean it and still drift apart.
On the field, Bichette just reminded everyone why his bat plays anywhere. He hit .311 with 181 hits, 44 doubles, 18 homers, and a .840 OPS across 139 games in 2025.
The sticking point is not effort, it is fit. Toronto's infield got steadier with Andrés Giménez around, and Bichette's -13 Outs Above Average at shortstop was tied for the worst in MLB.
Many expected to the two to part ways after news came out that the Blue Jays were pushing for Kyle Tucker but it looks like after the signing last night, the organization's decision has changed.

Bo Bichette and Toronto Blue Jays fit

Here is the fan truth, people love the idea of keeping a homegrown star, but they are also tired of paying for sentiment. If Bichette comes back, a real second base plan with Giménez at short feels like the cleanest baseball answer.
The money side is loud, too. Bichette has made it clear through his agents that he is looking for around $300 million which is much more than he was projected to sign for at the start of the off-0season.
That is why this reunion talk matters for the roster, not just the vibes. If Toronto keeps him, it is a middle-order righty who barely strikes out, he ran a 14.5% K rate in 2025.
My take is to keep pushing, but set a hard ceiling and stick to it. Bichette turns 28 on Opening Day, and the bat is worth paying for, just not at the cost of flexibility around Guerrero.
At the same time, the Blue Jays are now in a tough spot because if they are looking for a bat to add to the lineup, they are basically down to Bichette or Cody Bellinger.
