Dodgers Tommy Edman speaks on why he would have preferred to play the Mariners in the World Series
Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman stated during an interview ahead of the ALCS game 7 that he would prefer to play the Seattle Mariners over the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays ended up taking down the Mariners in game 7 with an incredible comeback late in the 7th inning to move onto the World Series and face the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Tommy Edman states the Dodgers would have preferred to face the Mariners
The Dodgers have had some extra time off after taking down the Milwaukee Brewers in 4 straight games in the NLCS as they have been awaiting their opponent which is now set.
During batting practice prior to game 7, Dodgers second baseman Tommy Edman spoke with reporters about who he would rather face in the World Series to which he stated was the Mariners.
Tommy Edman during the Dodgers workout today on what the team is working on, and which team they'd rather face between the Mariners and Blue Jays in the World Series.
Edman believes that facing the Mariners in the World Series would have been better for the Dodgers since they would have home field advantage and would not have to waste a day off travelling all the way to Toronto.
Unfortunately for both the Dodgers and Edman, the Blue Jays won game 7 and will now host Los Angeles on Friday night at the Rogers Centre to begin the World Series.
The Blue Jays are certainly at a disadvantage when it comes to being rested but at the same time, the Dodgers will not have played in over a week once game 1 arrives which might end up helping them out.
The Blue Jays and Dodgers face off at the Rogers Centre on Friday at 8:00 PM ET.
