Former Toronto Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano has been having the worst season of his career with the Philadelphia Phillies and he finally opened up about what has been going on.

Romano's replacement in Toronto, Jeff Hoffman has been facing his fair share of issues as well as he has been struggling on the mound and many are wondering if he should be removed as the team's closer.

Jordan Romano opens up about his issues since getting to Philadelphia

Romano so far this season has a 8.23 ERA in 49 games with 47 strikeouts, 10 homeruns and 45 hits allowed all in 42.2 innings pitched.
At the end of August, the Phillies placed Romano on IL and during a recent interview he stated that during this time off he is trying to focus on fixing issues and salvaging what is left of his season.
«That's the plan,» Romano said Friday at Miami's loanDepot park. «That's definitely the plan. I've been working on a lot of things with this, just with my delivery and stuff. Definitely, that is the plan." -Romano

Romano stated that he believes his problem since leaving Toronto for Philadelphia has been that with his pitches he has been spinning off a lot, pushing his fastball instead of driving it and that he has only occasionally hit on his deliveries.
«I was spinning off a lot,» Romano said. «Pushing the fastball a lot, not driving it. I feel like I've just been off a lot and then hit occasionally on the delivery,» -Romano

The former Jays closer admitted that this season has been far from what he wanted but that he is looking ahead to his return and trying to focus on finishing the season strong.
«Just come back, have a good finish,» Romano said. «The season obviously didn't go how I wanted it, but I'm just kind of looking ahead, looking forward. I can't change that, so just going to try to finish strong.» -Romano

Romano has proven that he can be a top end closer in the MLB when he is at the top of his game which hopefully he will be able to do before the playoffs for Philadelphia.
