The New York Yankees announced this afternoon that they have decided to release former Toronto Blue Jays all-star pitcher Marcus Stroman.
The trade deadline is often followed by some major roster moves as team's have to clear space on their roster for new additions and while the Yankees did need to clear up some spots, no one expected this.

On top of all of that, Stroman recently spoke during a post game interview talking of how he is excited to see what new faces come to town after the trade deadline clearly pointing to the fact that he was not expecting to be released.
