Former Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Mark Leiter Jr has found himself a new contract as he has signed with the Athletics.
The Winter Meetings are coming to an end as a long list of transactions have been made over the last few days including the Blue Jays who acquired a few players at the Rule 5 draft.

News broke this morning that Leiter has reached an agreement with the Athletics on a major league deal after electing free agency at the end of the season as the New York Yankees decided to non tender him.

Leiter Jr pitched in 59 games for the Yankees in 2025, he posted a 4.84 ERA over 48.1 IP with 54 strikeouts and a 1.53 WHIP.
He also appeared in 6 postseason games, posting a 1.69 ERA in 2024.

The Athletics and Leiter have agreed to a one year major league deal worth around $3 million.
As others have reported, free agent pitcher Mark Leiter Jr is in agreement with the A's on a contract. It's for 1-year at around $3 mil, sources tell ESPN.
Last season with the Yankees Leiter finished with a 4.84 ERA in 48.1 innings pitched which included 54 strikeouts and a 6-7 record and 2 saves on the season.
Leiter played for the Blue Jays during the 2018 season when he was claimed off waivers from the Phillies but his time did not last long as he put up a 13.50 ERA in 8 games before electing free agency.
