The Toronto Blue Jays announced that they have acquire Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Hedbert Perez in the Triple-A phase Rule 5 Draft.
During the MLB Rule 5 Draft earlier this afternoon the Blue Jays acquired pitcher Spencer Miles from the San Francisco Giants.
Blue Jays acquire Hedbert Perez from the Brewers
The Blue Jays announced that they acquired Perez from the Brewers in the Triple-A phase of the Rule 5 Draft this afternoon.
Perez reached Double-A for the first time in his career this past season within the Brewers organization.

While the Brewers just like the Blue Jays were able to end up untouched in the MLB portion of the MLB draft, they ended up losing Perez in the Triple-A phase.
While the Brewers neither take nor lose anyone in the MLB portion of the Rule 5 draft, they lost former big-time OF prospect Hedbert Pérez to Toronto in the Class AAA portion.
Perez split his 2025 season between High-A and Double-A in which he finished with a combined 14 home runs, 44 RBIs, .211 batting average and .331 on base percentage in 88 games.
While this is by no means a massive move by the Blue Jays it continues to improve their farm system by adding a power hitter like Perez.
Ross Atkins has been focused on improving the far system over the last couple seasons as the Blue Jays ranking took a massive dip during the 2024 season which he has been trying to rebuild.
