Gurriel went down a few nights ago as he dove out of the way to avoid colliding with his teammate as they were both tracking down a ball in the outfielder which resulted in a serious injury.
The diamondbacks announced that Gurriel ended up with a torn ACL in his right knee and will now unfortunately miss the remainder of the season.
"Lourdes Gurriel Jr. was diagnosed with a torn right ACL and was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. He will miss the remainder of the 2025 season and likely at least the first two months or so of 2026." -Gilbert

Due to this severe injury, it looks like Gurriel will miss the end of the 2025 season and will also miss the start of the 2026 season as he is expected to be out for at least another two months next year.
The Diamondbacks announced that Gurriel will be getting a second opinion but they are confident that the first diagnosis is correct.
"Gurriel will receive at least one additional opinion on the injury, but the club seems confident in the initial diagnosis." -Gilbert

The former Blue Jays was on pace to have one of his best seasons since 2021 season with the Blue Jays were he finished with 21 homeruns and 84 RBIs.
In 2025, Gurriel will finish with 19 homeruns, 80 RBIs, a .248 batting average and .295 on base percentage in a total of 129 games played.
Very similar to the Blue Jays, the Diamondbacks have been unable to avoid injury problems this season which has led to consistency issues on the field as they currently have a 70-71 record.
