Former MVP Reggie Jackson tells heart wrenching story on racism he faced
Yesterday, during the Giants and Cardinals game at Rickwood field, Reggie Jackson told a heartbreaking story of the racism he dealt with during his playing days.
The game was held at Rickwood field, the oldest stadium in the U.S and former home of the Birmingham Black Barons of the Negro Leagues. The game was meant to pay tribute to Willie Mays who played there and honor the Negro League as well.
During the broadcast, Jackson told a moving story when asked about how he felt being back in Alabama. The former MVP said it felt weird due to all the racism he dealt with during his career and while it made him a stronger person, he would never wish on anyone to go through with that nor would he ever want to do it again.
