The Royals announced that they have acquired right fielder former Blue Jays outfielder Randal Grichuk from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for RHP Andrew Hoffmann as the Diamondbacks are set to be sellers at this trade deadline.
The most recent Diamondbacks player on the move is Randal Grichuk, who Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reported is getting traded to the Kansas City Royals. Jon Heyman of The New York Post later added that it was in exchange for right-handed pitcher Andrew Hoffmann. -Wakai

Grichuk's best seasons in the MLB actually came during his time with the Blue Jays the being in 2019 when he finished the season with 31 homeruns and 80 RBIs to go along with a .232 batting average.
His two best seasons in Toronto were the first two years, with him hitting 25 and 30 home runs in 2018 and 2019, respectively, adding 61 and 80 RBI as well. The Blue Jays felt Grichuk was going to be a major part of their future, inking him to a five-year, $52 million extension in April during the 2019 season. -Wakai

As trades have already begun a few days away from the trade deadline, the Blue Jays have still yet to make their first moves but according to reports, they plan on being very aggressive over the next couple of days.
Toronto has big plans for the deadline since they have not been in a situation similar to this one in a long time as they have real chances of going deep in the playoffs this season and a truly World Series contenders.
