Former Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners catcher Jesus Montero tragically passed away in a car accident at 35 years old.
The news regarding Montero's passing was announced on Sunday afternoon ahead of his two former teams playing each other in the ALCS.

Montero was involved a car accident while riding his motorcycle back in his home country of Venezuela two weeks ago but finally succumbed to his injuries Sunday morning.
One of his former teams, the New York Yankees were the first team to confirm the sad news as they posted a message online directed towards his friends and family during this difficult time.

Montero played for the Blue Jays organization during the 2016 season where he spent all of his time with their Triple-A affiliate team, the Buffalo Bisons.
Born in Guacara, Venezuela, Montero played five major league seasons, one with the Yankees and four with the Mariners. He also excelled during his one season with the Toronto Blue Jays' triple-A affiliate, the Buffalo Bisons, in 2016. -Sportsnet
During his season with the Blue Jays, Montero played in 126 games for the Bisons, finishing with 11 homeruns and 60 RBIs on the season while finishing with an impressive .273 batting average.
