Cubs sign former Blue Jays Forrest Wall to a minor league deal
The Chicago Cubs signed OF Forrest Wall to a minor league contract.
New wheels for the #Cubs with Forrest Wall, a 300+ career steals guy, is headed to AAA Iowa after signing a Minor League deal. Could he be a September pinch-run weapon?
Wall has been putting up incredible numbers in the minors this season as he currently has a .298 batting average, .384 on base percentage with 4 homeruns and 39 RBIs in 69 games played during his time with the Padres organization.
During his time in Toronto, Wall never played in the MLB where he spent the majority of his time with the Buffalo Bisons between 2019 and 2020 before being moving onto Seattle.
Wall played in 16 games in the MLB last season between the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves but failed to make a lasting impression to stick around as both teams ended up letting him go.
If Wall is able to continue the same production he was putting up with the Padres Triple-A team he will force the Cubs to take a look at him if an injury happens sometime between now and the end of the season.
