Former Toronto Blue Jays outfielder opts out of his contract with the San Diego Padres
Former Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Forrest Wall is headed for free agency after he announce late last night that he has opted out of his contract with the San Diego Padres.
The Blue Jays recently made some trades with the Padres but it involved Will Wagner as he was sent there in exchange for catcher Brandon Valenzuela.

Former Blue Jaye outfielder Forrest Wall informed the Padres yesterday that he has decide to opt out of his minor league deal with the organization as he is once again a free agent.
OF Forrest Wall opted out of his contract with the Padres Triple-A affiliate, per source. He played in the big leagues in 2023 and 2024 with the Braves and Marlins.
Forrest Wall Opts Out Of Minor League Deal With Padres
Wall has not played in the majors since 2024 when he played 3 games with the Miami Marlins and has been in the minors ever since lastly with the El Paso Chihuahuas.
There is a good chance that Wall decided to opt out of his contract since he was not getting called up and now will all of the Padres new additions including former Blue Jay Will Wagner, he had an even smaller chance.
In 2025, Wall has 4 homeruns and 39 RBIs to go along with a .298 batting average and .384 on base percentage so he should be able to easily find himself a new minor league deal on a team that will give him a chance at the majors.
Wall spent two years with the Blue Jays organization in 2019 and 2021 but failed to get out of the minors as he spent his time with the Buffalo Bisons in Triple-A.
It will be interesting to see where Wall ends up signing next.
