Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Brandon Eisert has been shockingly designated for assignment by the Tampa Bay Rays two weeks after being traded there.

The Blue Jays decided to trade Eisert to the Rays after DFA'ing a couple weeks ago to make room on their roster for Anthony Santander and his $92.5 million contract.
Two weeks ago, the Toronto Blue Jays made their biggest splash this offseason when they signed slugging outfielder Anthony Santander to a five-year, $92.5 million contract in a move that resulted in pitcher Brandon Eisert being designated for assignment.

Eisert wasn't on the market for long, however, as he earned a new opportunity when he was dealt to the Tampa Bay Rays for cash considerations on Jan. 23. -Eng

The Rays acquired Eisert from the Blue Jays on January 23rd in exchange for future cash considerations but unfortunately did not last very long in Tampa Bay as he has been DFA'd once again.
Tampa Bay announced this morning that they have decided to DFA Eisert which is the second time in less than two weeks he is DFA'd as they needed to make room on their roster for Ha-Seong Kim.
However, déjà vu hit the promising 27-year-old reliever Monday when the Rays announced that he was being designated for assignment for the second time in less than two weeks.

This time, he lost his spot on the Rays' 40-man roster due to their addition of free agent infielder Ha-Seong Kim. -Eng

This is an unfortunate situation for the former Blue Jays pitcher as he finally got his first chance in the MLB last year pitching 6.2 inning with a 4.05 ERA but might be headed to his third in less than two weeks.
Eisert has put up solid numbers in the minors and has not gotten much of a chance in the majors apart from 6.2 innings last season but he now faces an up hill battle if he plans on getting back to the majors.
