Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher signs with the Minnesota Twins
The Minnesota Twins announced yesterday that the have agreed to a deal with former Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Genesis Cabrera.
The Pirates announced last week that they decided to DFA Cabrera then outright him to Triple-A but it looks like he refused the assignment which resulted in his release.

Cabrera is now headed to his fourth team of the season as he agreed to a minor league deal with the Twins and has been assigned to their Triple-A affiliate team in St Paul.

The Twins signed lefty reliever Génesis Cabrera to a minor league deal, the team announced.
He will report to Class AAA St. Paul. He made 24 big-league relief appearances this year for the Mets, Cubs and Pirates (5.79 ERA in 28 innings).

The former Blue Jays pitcher has moved around quite a bit since leaving Toronto as he signed with the New York Mets in the off-season then signed a contract with the Chicago Cubs then was DFA'd again where he signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Despite a lot of moving around, Cabrera's season has not been all bad this season as he put up a 3.52 ERA in 7.2 innings pitched with the Mets which is why many were surprised to see him let go.
Cabrera has had multiple seasons with an ERA below 4.00 proving that he can be a decent bullpen pitcher but for some reason things have been going poorly for him in 2025.
Now with the Twins, Cabrera will look to work his way back from the minors and land a spot in their bullpen.
