Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Genesis Cabrera has found a new home as he has signed a major league deal with the Chicago Cubs.
Cabrera played one season for the Toronto Blue Jays which came last year in which he finished with solid numbers as he had a 3.59 ERA with 2 saves in 62.2 innings pitched.

Cabrera signed a minor league deal with the New York Mets in the off-season and despite having a solid 3.52 ERA in 7.2 innings pitched this season with the Mets he ended up being DFA'd a few days ago.
The Cubs announced yesterday that they have agreed to a one year deal with Cabrera and consequently have decided to DFA pitcher Brooks Kriske as they needed to make room on their 40 man roster.

The Dominican, Génesis Cabrera, signed a 1-year Major League contract with the Chicago Cubs
This is not that big of a surprise since Cabrera pitched well for the Blue Jays last season and in the few games he got into with the Mets this season, he proved that he can be a reliable relief pitcher in the MLB.
The most surprising part in all of this is that the Blue Jays did not look into bringing
Cabrera back to Toronto since they bullpen is lacking depth and Cabrera was actually quite reliable last season.
