Gage Stanifer has been having a breakout season, as a result the TToronto Blue Jays have promoted the pitcher prospect to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in double-A.

There are only two weeks left in the minor league season and Stanifer aims to make his mark during the short stint.

Gage Stanifer earns promotion amidst stellar season

Ryley Delaney of Blue Jays Nation recently reported on Stanifer's promotion and how this season was an unexpected surge for the 2022 19th rounder.
"He had two okay seasons before 2025, but has reached another gear this season, beginning his season with the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays. Piggybacking with Trey Yesavage, Stanifer posted an incredible 0.69 ERA and 2.24 FIP in 26 innings pitched, with a 36.9 K% and 11.7 BB%."-Delaney

His success continued when he got promoted to High-A for the Vancouver Canadians
"Of course, his performance led to a promotion to the High-A Vancouver Canadians, where he has posted a 3.20 ERA and 2.32 FIP in 76 innings pitched, with a 36.5 K% and 11.7 BB%. The 21-year-old had a terrific August, owning a 1.69 ERA and 2.69 FIP in 32 innings pitched, striking out 42 for a 33.1 K% during that span. More interestingly, Stanifer only had an 8.7 BB% in August."-Delaney

Stanifer's biggest strength is his swing and miss abilities. He has struck out 153 batters in only 102 innings, this is a tie for second amongst all minor league pitchers. And it all seems to have come out of nowhere this season.
"In just five months, Stanifer went from a relatively unknown prospect (albeit one that I thought could breakout) to a legitimate candidate to rank as a top 100 prospect. The 21-year-old ranked as the Blue Jays' sixth-best prospect according to MLB Pipeline."-Delaney

Stanifer will make two more starts in double-A before the minor league season wraps up, his next projected start will be this coming Friday.
