"I'm here and I love this team," Springer said. "I love this organization, and as far as I know, I'm here."

Springer is hitting .234 with 12 home runs across 78 games this season, and he's actually surged since the All-Star break, exactly the kind of stretch that tends to attract more trade interest rather than less.
Toronto sits at 50-59, last in the American League East, a record that's made moving pending free agents like Springer the expected direction for this front office all month.
Given his 10-and-5 rights, any deal ultimately requires his own approval, meaning silence from the front office right now could simply mean nothing concrete has developed yet worth discussing with him.
