The Toronto Blue Jays entire lineup has been struggling this season but especially lately and George Springer who seemed to be the golden boy at the start of the season has now hit a very bad rough patch.
Brutal update regarding George Springer's numbers at the plate
Springer had everyone in shock to start the season as he was on fire at the plate after having the worst year of his career in terms of production in 2024, which is why no one expected him to be so good this season.
Unfortunately things have taken a horrible turn lately as his hot start has cooled down quite a bit as he currently is hitting .182 in his last 30 games with a .343 slugging percentage.
The George Springer hot start is unfortunately a distant memory.
He's hitting .182 with a .343 slugging % over his last 30 games
During yesterday's brutal 13-0 loss to the Rays, those struggles were on full display as Springer had himself a horrible game in which fans were joking around online that it might have been the worst inning for a right fielder in MLB history.
George Springer with the worst inning all time for a right fielder??
Springer still has a ton of time to turn things around as he clearly proved at the start of the season that he is able to be a solid hitter once again but hitting coach David Popkins needs to start working his magic and get Springer back on the right page.
Since
Santander and a few of the other Blue Jays sluggers are struggling, if Toronto can get Springer back on track they will only benefit from an additional solid bat in the lineup.
