The Toronto Blue Jays missed out of free agent pitcher Max Fried yesterday but a recent report has them as the front runners to land pitcher Corbin Burnes.
The Blue Jays had their eyes on pitcher Max Fried this off-season as he seemed to be their number two target after Juan Soto but he ended up signing a massive 8 year deal with the New York Yankees last night.

According to reports, the Blue Jays and the Giants seem to be the two most likely teams to land Burnes with the Blue Jays having the slight upper hand after their meeting with him a few days ago went very well.

Despite Fried signing with the Yankees and multiple other top pitchers getting taken off the board, the Blue Jays are still very interested in acquiring a starting pitcher as they see improving their rotation as one of the top priorities of the off-season.

Hopefully this deal works out for the Blue Jays but they will need to make a monster offer for Burnes if they plan on landing him as he is the top free agent pitcher on the market this off-season.
