The Toronto Blue Jays are still looking for a starting pitcher and despite previous reports, they apparently have a real chance at landing international free agent superstar Roki Sasaki.

The Blue Jays recently signed pitcher Jeff Hoffman to help out with their bullpen but they are still looking to add at least one more pitcher that would like be to help their starting ortation.

The Blue Jays actually have a chance at landing international free agent Roki Sasaki

Roki Sasaki is arguably the best free agent available even though he has yet to play a single MLB game as he has been the best pitcher in the NPB in Japan over the last couple seasons and is now headed to North America.

According to reports, the Blue Jays are actually one of the top teams to land him once he can officially sign of January 15th even though they are not the top team, they seem to have a real chance.

While they aren't considered frontrunners by any means, the Blue Jays could benefit from bringing in the young superstar. He has had fantastic stats in Japan, and it would make sense for them to try and spend to bring him in with hopes of salvaging their horrendous offseason -- especially since the bids for Sasaki are capped by international rules. -Courville-Lynch

There are 6 teams that seem to be the front runners to land Sasaki, the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants and the Blue Jays.

Some good news also came out that Sasaki actually has been asking around about the Blue Jays and spoke to his teammate and former Blue Jays James Dykstra about them.

If Sasaki is asking around about the Blue Jays, there is clearly some interest there which is promising for the Blue Jays.

If the Blue Jays somehow manage to land Sasaki, he will surely be a massive part of their rotation in the future.
