Toronto Blue Jays infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa has been dealing with a ton of backlash from fans since last night as fans blame him for the 5-4 loss.
Isiah Kiner-Falefa responds to fans backlash
Kiner-Falefa had a chance to come in from third base on a Daulton Varsho hit but due to not taking a big enough lead from third base, he was unable to make it in time.
IKF's small lead and a lack of a secondary was the difference for Toronto not winning a title.
After the game, Kiner-Falefa spoke to reporters about the backlash and why he did not take a bigger lead in which he stated it was simply just a tough play but he did not want to get doubled off.
After Game 7, Isiah Kiner-Falefa had people blaming him for the Blue Jays' loss & threatening to break his legs. He wanted to share his thoughts on why he didn't have a bigger lead at third base before attempting to score.
Blue Jays fans were not impressed with Kiner-Falefa's base running and will likely take quite some time to forgive for this play.
Why is IKF staring at Rojas? The bases are loaded. Go home
While this play was not ideal, the Blue Jays had a number of other chances to take the lead and win the game but were unable to deliver.
Kiner-Falefa was put in a tough position but was far from the only player to make a mistake with the game on the line.
