Jeff Passan just put the Toronto Blue Jays and Kyle Tucker rumor on maximum volume with the latest contract offer update.
Passan said Toronto is the one club willing to go as deep as 10 years, potentially, and he hinted a decision could land this week. That kind of term is a flex, and it screams urgency.
Jeff Passan on the Blue Jays pursuit of Kyle Tucker:
"The Toronto Blue Jays have really been the only team that's shown the willingness to go as deep as 10 years, potentially."
Passan added a decision is likely to come this week.

The other number out there belongs to the New York Mets, who reportedly came in around $120 to $130 million over three years. Now the chatter is New York is ready to stretch to four years to keep pace.
What matters for the Blue Jays is the shape of the bidding, not the exact dollars today. A long deal lowers the annual hit, while still giving Tucker the security most stars chase.

I get why people are nervous, ten years is a lifetime in baseball. But it is also the rare swing that can change the whole vibe of the lineup.
Tucker is coming off a 2025 season with 500 at-bats, a .266 average, 22 homers, 73 RBIs, and 25 steals. He turns 29 on Saturday, so the age curve is the real debate.
The only worrisome part in all of this is that if the Blue Jays lock in a 10 year deal with Tucker, they will be tied in until he turns 39 years old and with the Vladimir Guerrero Jr 15-year deal that has him until he is 41 years old, the Blue Jays could be stuck with both these players long past their prime.
The track record is the selling point, 147 career home runs with a .273 average and 119 stolen bases. He was a first-round pick in 2015, fifth overall, and he has looked like that kind of talent.
For Toronto, the fit is clean because the left-handed bat plays anywhere in the outfield. Add his speed, and suddenly you are pressuring defenses again instead of waiting for three-run homers.
If the Jays land Tucker on a 10 year deal, it is basically a bet that Tucker ages like an elite hitter, not just an athlete. It is also a statement to the clubhouse that the window is not theoretical anymore.
The Mets angle feels like classic Steve Cohen leverage, shorter term, massive annual value, and maybe a fourth year as the sweetener. Toronto is trying to win on stability, New York is trying to win on shock and awe.
While the Guerrero term was less of a shock since most fans saw it coming, if they land Tucker on this massive deal, it will go down as the biggest signing in Blue Jays free agent history.
