The Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider was on Sportsnet 590 the Fan this afternoon and spoke of why Vladimir Guerrero Jr is out of the lineup against the Miami Marlins.

Earlier this week, Guerrero left the game against the Pittsburgh Pirates with hamstring inflammation and despite it not seeming to be a serious injury, he is still out.

John Schneider explains why Vladimir Guerrero Jr is out of the lineup once again

Guerrero was out of the lineup for the last two games of the series against the Pirates which many believed was just to give him a few extra days of rest with the day off yesterday.
However, the Blue Jays announced their lineup for game 1 against the Marlins tonight and Guerrrero was once again not in the lineup.

Schneider stated on Sportsnet that the team decided to not to play him once again since they are trying to be careful but are still hopeful that he could be available tonight or this weekend.
"We're trying to be careful but we want to get him in as quick as we can... It's not IL worthy, he's been better every single day. Hopefully he's available tonight or over the weekend..."

Hopefully Schneider is right and this injury is nothing too serious because as the playoffs approach rapidly, the Blue Jays offense will certainly need Guerrero's bat if they plan on going deep this year.
