Max Scherzer might not be done with the Six just yet, and if Jon Heyman’s latest report is accurate, "Mad Max" could be coming back for one last ride.
We all thought we had seen the last of the future Hall of Famer when he walked off the mound in Game 7 of the World Series last November.
But according to a new clip from MLB Network, the Blue Jays are actively discussing a reunion with the 41-year-old legend.
Heyman suggests that despite signing Dylan Cease to anchor the rotation, the front office sees value in bringing Scherzer back as the ultimate luxury depth piece.
His 2025 numbers weren't pretty on the surface (5-5, 5.19 ERA in 17 starts), but anyone who watched him battle knows the tank isn't empty.
He battled through injuries to give us 85 innings of pure grit, striking out 82 batters and mentoring the younger arms like Bowden Francis.

At the start of the off-season, Scherzer made it clear he would love to return to Toronto.
We need him to finish what he started in Game 7
As a fan, the image of Scherzer stalking around the dugout during the playoffs is something I’m not ready to let go of.
He brings an intensity that this franchise lacked for decades.
Sure, he isn't the Cy Young winner of 2013 anymore, but in a "win or go home" game, who else do you trust?
He left his heart on the field against the Dodgers, and you know losing that series eats him alive.
If he is willing to take a smaller deal to chase that ring with this group, Ross Atkins needs to make it happen.
Imagine a rotation of Cease, Gausman, Berrios, and a healthy Scherzer as the wild card?
That is championship depth.
Bring him home.
