Jose Bautista recently had an interview in Toronto with Offside and spoke on the current Toronto Blue Jays team while also comparing his game to a surprising player in the lineup.
Bautista was recently back in Toronto as he walked out onto the stage with country musician Morgan Wallen and the singer imitated Bautista's signature bat flip.
Jose Bautista surprisingly compares himself to Bo Bichette
«As they probably know as well, when you are in the playoffs and you already make it through, it's all about the unity, minimizing mistakes, staying healthy, and having a little bit of luck, too,» Bautista said. «I think they have all that it takes. It's just a matter of keep doing what they've been doing all year long, and just enjoy it while you're at it.» -Bautista
During the interview, Bautista surprised fans when asked who he believes has the most similar game to how he played which he named Bo Bichette.
According to Bautista, the two are similar for their approach to the game and how they are intense and take the game very seriously which Bautista was known for.
«There's a bunch of guys, but maybe Bo Bichette a little bit,» Bautista said. «He's a little bit intense like me. Maybe a little bit more relaxed than I was, but he definitely has that serious approach to playing the game he loves. He has a heightened sense of responsibility. I feel like I was the same.» -Bautista
Most fans would have thought that he would compared himself more to Vladimir Guerrero Jr since the two are power hitters but it looks like that is not the case.
Bichette and Bautista's style of play are very different but clearly the Blue Jays legend sees some similarities with him more than any other player.
If Bichette ends up having a career similar to Bautista when all is said and done, he will surely be very happy with that.
