Biggest series of the year and Gausman didn't BLINK
After the game, Gausman spoke to the reporters on his performance stating that he does not feel completely back yet but that it is hard to not feel good about 8 innings and only 1 earned run at Yankee stadium.
Kevin Gausman says that he's not "completely back" to where he wants to be, but it's hard not to feel good about eight innings of one-run ball at Yankee Stadium:

«I know what I can be when I'm at my best. Tonight is a glimpse that.» #BlueJays
Gausman also added that as a player he is beyond grateful to be playing meaningful games in September and that facing the Yankees who were in the World Series last season, he believes it gives you a bit more motivation.
Kevin Gausman on the juice of big Sept games:

«As a player, this is all you want. You want to be in September playing meaningful games. And when it's against the team that was in the World Series last year, you're going to come into the game with a little bit more of an edge.»
If Gausman still has more to give after a performance like that, the Blue Jays starting rotation is in very safe hands come playoff time with him on the mound.
