Los Angeles Dodgers announced that they have signed former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Nick Robertson.
The Dodgers are signing right-hander Nick Robertson to a minor league contract, a quiet but familiar reunion. The first report came out Friday and it spread fast once roster trackers grabbed it.

Robertson is 27, and this is technically a homecoming because Los Angeles drafted him in the seventh round back in 2019. He is the kind of depth arm you stash early, then reevaluate when spring innings get real.
He already tasted the majors with the Dodgers in 2023, then got moved in the deal that brought Kiké Hernández back to L.A. That quick cameo set the tone for his next couple seasons, lots of movement, not many guarantees.
His overall MLB line is 27 games, 35.2 innings, a 5.30 ERA, and 40 strikeouts, so the run prevention has been bumpy. Still, strikeouts travel, and teams keep betting they can smooth out the walks and contact.
Nick Robertson joins Los Angeles Dodgers depth
His Toronto chapter was almost comically brief, but it is worth remembering because it shows how thin the margins can be. The Blue Jays claimed Robertson off waivers on Sept. 17, 2024, and he debuted Sept. 28 versus Miami, retiring all three hitters he faced.
The Blue Jays never really got a second look once roster math took over in the spring. He was designated for assignment in late March 2025, then traded to Houston for minor leaguer Edinson Batista days later.
After that, Robertson spent 2025 bouncing in the Astros and Royals systems, basically living the relief pitcher hustle. For the Dodgers, the upside is simple, you get a big righty with experience who can soak innings in Oklahoma City.
My read is this signing is smart only if the Dodgers view him as more than a paper arm for March. If his command is even average, he can turn that one-inning Toronto memory into a real bullpen role by Opening Day.
