In a recent report, a trade offer was proposed which would bring White Sox Centerfielder Luis Robert Jr to Toronto in exchange for Josh Kasevich, TJ Brock and Jonatan Clase.
There aren't too many exciting bats remaining in free agency, but a trade candidate might make Blue Jays fans' ears perk up: Luis Robert Jr., the center fielder for the Chicago White Sox. -Roberts
In a YouTube video published Saturday, Hyde proposed a hypothetical deal that would send Robert to Toronto for a package containing shortstop Josh Kasevich, starting pitcher T.J. Brock, and outfielder Jonatan Clase. -Roberts
Robert is coming off a down season in 2024 in which dealt with injury issues and a decline at the plate but put up great numbers in 2023 as he was an all-star with 38 homeruns and 80 RBIs.
Robert, 27, was a 2023 All-Star with an .857 OPS and 38 home runs. He struggled in 2024 in just 99 games, putting up a .657 OPS while dealing with the aforementioned hip flexor issue, but perhaps a trade to a team with a shot at the playoffs would reinvigorate him. -Roberts
Adding Robert to the Blue Jays lineup would certainly bring in some much needed offense and even if it would cost them a lot in talented prospects, it would definitely be worth it.
