Max Scherzer and John Schneider spoke to the media after the Toronto Blue Jays loss to the New York Yankees this afternoon speaking on pitcher relaying.
The Blue Jays had Scherzer on the mound this afternoon as they moved his start an extra day to give his back tightness issue more time to recuperate.

Scherzer put together a decent performance this afternoon as he pitched 4.1 innings, giving up 3 hits and 4 earned runs while striking out 8 batters and walking another 4.
After the game, Scherzer was asked about the Yankees relaying pitches to their hitters which he said they definitely were but he was not upset about it because it is now part of the game.

Schneider on the other hand was a little more upset about it stating that the Blue Jays need to do a better job of hiding their pitches so that it isn't that easy for the Yankees to signal which pitch is coming.
«They were relaying (pitches).. they're good at it. Major League Baseball knows the Yankees are good when they have something. Maybe I'm the only one that's going to say it publicly, but we have to do a better job of making sure we're not giving anything away.»

Clearly the Blue Jays were not happy with it but as Scherzer said, it is now part of the game and there is not much they can do about it.
The Blue Jays still lead the division and after a day off tomorrow, they will begin their series against the Houston Astros on Tuesday.
