Jim Bowden discusses possible trade between the Mariners and the Blue Jays for Bo Bichette
In a recent report, MLB insider Jim Bowden stated that he believes the Blue Jays could look into a trade with the Mariners for Bo Bichette involving multiple top prospects coming back to Toronto.
While answering questions from fans for the Athletic, MLB Insider Jim Bowden proposed this trade that ships Bo Bichette to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for multiple prospects: -Mohammed
Bowden believes that the Blue Jays could move Bichette to Seattle for some top end prospects including either Shortstop Colt Emerson or Second baseman Cole Young.Blue Jays receive: shortstop Colt Emerson or shortstop/second baseman Cole Young
Mariners receive: shortstop Bo Bichette -MohammedEmerson would be an incredible addition for the Blue Jays after a solid second season in the minor leagues with 4 homeruns, 37 RBIs, .263 batting average and .393 on base percentage.
Since none of these players would be able to come in right away to replace Bichette, this could open up some room for the Blue Jays the Blue Jays to go and land either a first baseman, third baseman or shortstop.
Landing some on the Mariners top prospects would surely improve the Blue Jays farm system rankings which currently sit at the bottom after finishing the 2024 season in 24th place.
The Mariners on the other hand would have to figure out if they want to move Bichette over to third base or if JP Crawford will slide over since they already have a reliable shortstop.
