There seems to always be news in the AL East, and it continues with the New York Yankees going after Bo Bichette, since they are looking to trade Jazz Chisholm, Bichette would perfectly slot in at second base.

The Toronto Blue Jays have been really slow with negotiations with Bichette, and it is starting to seem he won't be staying with the Blue Jays.

New York Yankees going after Bo Bichette.

Erin Shaplan of New York Yankees SI reported on the pursuit of Bichette by the Yankees. With growing rumours of the Yankees moving on from Chisholm, Bichette would be the perfect fit for the team, while it would definitely come back to haunt the Blue Jays.
"Bichette, who will be 28 for the coming season, bats right-handed, which may give him a leg up among a Yankees lineup with too many lefties. Bichette is also a poor defender at shortstop, with a -13 outs above average placing him among the worst in the league. He is being shopped as a second baseman, and the Yankees should take him up on it if they're losing Chisholm."-Shaplan

The Blue Jays have been much more focused Kyle Tucker this offseason. Even though he will be more than double the price at this point, the Blue Jays seem adamant he is a better fit than Bichette is on the Blue Jays. And the Yankees are going to take advantage of the fact that this whole situation is in limbo for the Blue Jays.
"Bichette slashed .311/ .357/ .483 with an .840 OPS in 2025, and has shown improvement offensively over a consistent career at the plate. He may well stay with the Blue Jays in the end after their World Series run, as Heyman predicted just last week."-Shaplan

The Blue Jays seem to be a little all over the place in the rumour mill, hopefully Ross Atkins has it more under control than what we see because, they have a lot of players that they are rumoured to be pursuing, which could compromise their positions.
