Edwards has a career 3.56 ERA in 286 innings pitched.
Last season, Edwards split his season between the Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Angels where he finished with a 4.50 ERA in 4 games with 6 strikeouts and 3 walks.
Edwards played for the Blue Jays back in 2021 for a short amount of time as Toronto signed him in May then released him in August.
During his time in Toronto, Edwards finished with a 6.75 ERA in 6 games as he spent the majority of his time in Triple-A with the Buffalo Bisons and has proven over the last few years to be a reliable minor league pitcher.
Edwards will now have a chance to make the Mets Opening Day roster due to his Spring Training invitation but there is a good chance they end up having him start the season in the minors and call him up once an injury comes up.
