Paul Skenes publicly confirms his plans after trade rumors are announced affecting the Blue Jays and others

There has been a lot of reports that the Pittsburgh Pirates are possibly looking at trading generational talent Paul Skenes which could be massive for the Blue Jays or any other team interested in acquiring him.
If the Pirates seriously start making and receiving calls on Skenes, the Blue Jays would be insane not to look into what they would need to offer to get him since he is arguably the best pitcher in baseball and is only 22 years old.

As the trade deadline approaches and the Pirates looking to have zero hopes in making the playoffs once again, there has been a lot of rumors that Pittsburgh is looking to trade Skenes.
Skenes spoke on these rumors, stating that there is no substance to any of these rumors and that at the same time he has no plans on leaving the Pirates as his goal is still to win a World Series in Pittsburgh.
"There's no substance to just all that talk that you hear on social media and news outlets and stuff like that," Skenes said.
Paul Skenes, to me, on hearing his name pop up in trade rumors & his future in Pittsburgh: "When I got drafted, I came in with the intention of winning a World Series here. That hasn't changed. I don't think my days here are numbered by any means."
Skenes did add that there is always a possibility that he is trade if the GM believes it would be best for the organization but at the end of the day that is out of Skenes' hands.
I don't expect it to happen," Skenes stressed. "[But Cherington] is going to look out for what's best for the Pirates. If he feels [trading me] is the right way to go, then he feels that's the right way to go. But you know, I have to pitch well, that's the bottom line." -Skenes
If the Pirates do end up looking to use Skenes in a trade scenario to help their future, the Blue Jays need to make it a mission to offer everything they can to get him to Toronto.
