The Toronto Blue Jays have an important off-season ahead in which MLB insider Edward Eng announced that the team will likely be trading Davis Schneider and a couple others.
Blue Jays expected to trade three players this off-season
MLB insider Edward Eng from Jays Journal recently spoke about three players that will likely be traded by the Blue Jays this off-season despite not being dealt at the trade deadline.
The first is Schneider who has had a lot of up and downs during his time with the Blue Jays and due to this lack of consistency despite playing better lately, the Blue Jays will likely trade him this off-season.
With power being Schneider's main calling card, the addition of France from the trade deadline suddenly makes his bat redundant. As a result, unless he starts things around soon, as much as Jays fans don't want to hear it, Schneider could be gone by this offseason. -Eng
Leo Jimenez is another player that will likely be dealt this off-season since Toronto already have a ton of solid infielders ahead of his and due to his rough numbers at the plate this season including an awful 0.69 batting average, they will probably end up moving him.
As a result, with Jiménez's struggles, along with Andrés Giménez, Ernie Clement and Addison Barger cementing themselves in the Blue Jays' everyday lineup this season Jiménez could see his tenure with Toronto come to an end sooner than anticipated. -Eng
Finally there is Mason Fluharty who had a phenomenal start to the season but has struggled a lot lately as his ERA sits at 8.79 in his last 15 games, Toronto will trade him especially after all the new solid arms they acquired at the trade deadline.
Nevertheless, unless he starts reverting back to his old form seen earlier this season, it is hard to see Fluharty maintaining a spot with the current Jays by the end of year. -Eng
Out of the three of these players, it would likely be either Schneider or Fluharty that would bring back the biggest return due to their potential.
