The Toronto Blue Jays and Bo Bichette recently had a meeting which the results of were recently announced and did not go as expected.
The Blue Jays still seem to want to bring back Bichette on a long-term deal but it looks like their strategy of waiting for the market to be set by Kyle Tucker signing might hurt their chances of bringing him back.
Update regarding meeting between the Blue Jays and Bo Bichette
According to the latest reports, the Blue Jays recently met with Bichette about a new potential contract as they has discussions about his future in Toronto.
Despite discussing a new deal, it appears that the Blue Jays have still yet to make an offer to Bichette even though the season has now been over for almost 2 months now.
It is my understanding that Bichette's preference would be to return to the Jays - and him and the front office have had some discussions about what that looks like and time frame of when they can make that happen.

The Blue Jays are clearly playing a dangerous game when it comes to their negotiations with Bichette as the more time they take to put in their initial offer, the more time he has to talk with other teams.
The Toronto Blue Jays are playing a dangerous game by letting Bo Bichette's free agency play out this long.
Bichette has already met with other teams which is why there is starting to be a lot of talk that he will end up signing elsewhere.
If the Blue Jays end up signing Kyle Tucker, there won't be any issues but the problems could start to arise if they end up losing out on both players.
