Toronto Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins spoke to the media this evening at the winter meeting and spoke on catcher Tyler Heineman's future.

The MLB is currently in the middle of the Winter Meetings in Las Vegas where there has been a lot of chatter about where certain free agent will end up such as free agent Kyle Tucker.

Tyler Heineman should be back next season but there seems to be no guarantees

After meetings this evening, Atkins spoke to the media and answered some questions in which he was asked about Heineman's future with the organization moving forward.
Atkins stated that they have to look at all options and make sure that the decisions they make are making the team better but did add that he has a good chance of being part of the team's future.
#BlueJays GM Ross Atkins, on if Tyler Heineman could be in the mix again next year: "We have to always think about if there's a way to get better, but he is well positioned to be a part of our future."

He is arb eligible.
While Heineman did not play a massive role for the Blue Jays this season, he did step up every time the Blue Jays needed him especially when Alejandro Kirk went down with a concussion.
Heineman is arbitration eligible this season so it will be interesting to see how his contract ends up playing out throughout the winter.
The Blue Jays have very little catcher depth but they did add Brandon Valenzuela to the 40 man roster not long ago which could be the reason that they decided to walk away from Heineman.
