Blue Jays reliever Erik Swanson was optioned to Buffalo after coming back from an injury but seems unable to find his game again.

Swanson injured his forearm in Spring Training and has had problems ever since as he continue to struggle this season. Swanson was optioned to Triple-A as the Blue Jays were hoping this would help but things have taken a turn for the worse. In his last start in Buffalo, Swanson pitched only 2 innings given up 11 earned runs.
Manager John Schneider spoke on the situation recently stating that they are ready to exhaust all options to get Swanson back on track and pointed out that his main issue right now is control not velocity.
The #BlueJays are "exhausting all options" to help Erik Swanson get back on track, John Schneider said.

In his last three AAA outings: 2 IP, 11 ER

His velocity and splitter are still sharp, but Schneider pointed to control. He'll continue to work through this in AAA for now.
The Blue Jays will need to see some massive improvements from Swanson if he plans on return to the Majors.
