The Seattle Mariners moved onto the ALCS last night with a win over the Detroit Tigers and have already announced their starting pitcher for game 1 against the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays announced early this morning that they will be sending out Kevin Gausman to the mound for game 1 just as they did against the New York Yankees.

Seattle Mariners announce starter for game 1 of ALCS

The Mariners just announced this afternoon that pitcher Bryce Miller will be getting the start for game 1 tomorrow night at the Rogers Centre.

This is a bit of a surprising move since Miller did not have the greatest of seasons in 2025 as he finished with a 5.68 ERA in 18 starts with only 74 strikeouts in 90.1 innings pitched.

Miller, 27, posted a 5.68 ERA over 18 starts this season, striking out 74 and walking 34 in 90.1 innings. -Sportsnet

This is great news for the Blue Jays who actually got 7 runs scored off of Miller in 5 innings pitcher earlier this season.

Blue Jays should feel comfortable going up against a guy who put up a 5.68 ERA this year (who they got 7 runs off in 5 IP) in GM1.

The Mariners certainly did not have a ton of options after going through a solid amount of their pitching staff throughout the last series but this is certainly a big positive for the Blue Jays.
