Teoscar Hernandez recently spoke to reporters about how he was close to returning to Toronto last summer as he was in contract negotiations.
According to Hernandez, Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins did not meet his asking price regardless of the fact that he wanted to return to Toronto.
Teoscar Hernandez admitted he was in serious negotiations to return to the Toronto Blue Jays for 2024 and possibly beyond but the team failed to agree to his asking price. So the Dodgers scooped him up. Currently he's hit 12 home runs with 38 RBI.

The Dodgers ended up signing him on a 1 year deal worth $23.5 million, Hernandez has been having a great season offensively as he currently has 12 homeruns and 38 RBIs.
It looks like Atkins missed another great opportunity due to his focus on Ohtani last summer which resulted in nothing.
