The Blue Jays have acquired a big right-handed reliever from Astros.

The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired the 6-foot 5 right-handed reliever Joel Kuhnel from the Houston Astros in exchange for Cash.

Before Kuhnel could even reach Toronto, he was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo.

OFFICIAL: We've acquired RHP Joel Kuhnel from the Astros in exchange for cash considerations and optioned him to Triple-A.




Joel Kuhnel, 29, made one appearance for the Astros this season and participated in nine games for the Triple-A Sugar Land Space Cowboys. He achieved a combined record of 4-1 with a 5.40 earned-run average.

Kuhnel is a big man standing 6-5 and weighing 290 pounds, he was drafted in the 11th round by the Cincinnati Reds during the 2016 draft. His debut came in 2019 for the Reds.

It wasn't the move fans have been wanting for, but at least they are trying to do something.
