The Toronto Blue Jays were expected to make some big time moves at the Winter Meetings but failed to do so resulting in a few costly mistakes.

The biggest move of the Blue Jays made during the last week was signing former Phillies pitcher Michael Plassmeyer to a minor league deal.

Blue Jays miss out of some big moves

The Blue Jays were expected to make some massive moves this week but ended up doing nothing at one of the busiest weeks of the MLB off-season which might end up costing them in 2026.
There were a lot of rumors about the Blue Jays looking to sign a big time reliever this week but they failed to do so as the biggest names on the board in Robert Suarez and Edwin Diaz ended up signing elsewhere which can become a massive problem since their bullpen needs help for 2026.
The Blue Jays need a high-leverage arm, whether it is a middle reliever or replacing Hoffman at closer. There were rumors that the Blue Jays were tied to Edwin Diaz, but he signed a three-year $69 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Robert Suarez, signed a three-year, $45 million contract with the Atlanta Braves -Jaeger

Another big problem was not addressing their need for a solid hitter to replace Bo Bichette who seems to be still be testing the free agent market.
If the Blue Jays are not able to bring back Bichette or sign Kyle Tucker, they will need for George Springer and Anthony Santander to have to a big season next year.
Without finding a replacement to match Bichette's 18 home runs from last season, the Blue Jays are banking on a Springer repeat performance and Santander having a bounce-back season. -jaeger

Finally, there has been a lot of rumors about a potential trade involving at least of of their outfielders since they have so many but once again nothing was done during the Winter Meetings.
There is still some solid options on the table for the Blue Jays to add but at the same time names continue to be taken off the board and the Blue Jays seem to be waiting on Bichette and Tucker.
