There has been very positive news as of late for Anthony Santander and the Toronto Blue Jays , the slugger is well on his way to return from an injury that spanned several months.

Santander will start his rehab stint with the Buffalo Bisons next week but will be travelling to New York with the Blue Jays this weekend.

Roster shakeup expected upon Santander return for Blue Jays.

Adam Laskaris of DH Sports recently reported that Anthony Santander is to begin his rehab stint in triple-A next week.
"Anthony Santander is ramping up his return to action, with the plan that he'll head to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons for a rehab assignment starting next week.
While he was the Blue Jays' biggest addition of the offseason, Santander's been hurt pretty much the entire time the team has skyrocketed to the top of the American League East. Santander hasn't played since May 29, dealing with shoulder inflammation. In 50 games for the Blue Jays this season, he has a batting average of .179 with six homers and 18 RBIs."-Laskaris

If he were to join the Blue Jays before the postseason the obvious roster change would be for him to split time with George Springer at DH.
"Springer has played 65 games at designated hitter this season, in addition to 49 games in the outfield. Santander, meanwhile, has played 29 games as a designated hitter and 19 in the outfield, in addition to one at first base."-Laskaris

There's always hesitation to plug another player into a team that has seen a lot of success. The Toronto Blue Jays have risen to the top spot in the AL East and that all happened without Santander.
There is no doubt he is an amazing talent but if the Blue Jays bring him back too soon it could mess with his confidence and interrupt the team's success.
It is important the front office is 100% sure if they were to call him back up to the Blue Jays prior to the postseason. If he regains the form he has last year they are going to be one tough team to knock out in the fall.
